Nanki-Poo, the son of the Mikado disguised as a wandr’ing minstrel, loves Yum Yum, and she loves him.  However she’s engaged to Koko, Titipu’s Lord High Executioner, who hasn’t executed anyone since…well, ever.  The Mikado, who likes a jolly execution, has noticed this and descends on Titipu, bringing with him battleaxe Katisha, who believes herself engaged to Nanki-Poo.  What will Nanki-Poo do without Yum Yum?  Will Koko really have to execute someone?  And what will Katisha do when she finds Nanki-Poo?  Here’s a state of things!
